1Getting Started

In the following sections we will explain how to set up and use Eventr Wordpress Theme the easiest way possible. Although there're a lot of things written in this documentation, the theme itself is not hard to use. You can go to the Theme Options page and explore everything yourself. This file is more of a reference if you do not know what to do, or if you are not familiar with WordPress.

1.1Installing Eventr

After you’ve downloaded the main theme archive from ThemeForest you’ll see the following items inside:

There are two main ways in which you can install Eventr into your WordPress setup.

  1. Through the WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Uploading through FTP (file transfer protocol)

Using The WordPress Admin Dashboard

  1. Head over to Appearance > Themes in your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Install Themes followed by the Upload button
  3. Locate the Eventr.zip file you extracted from the ThemeForest download archive and click the Install Now button
  4. You’re now ready to use Eventr

Uploading through FTP

1.2Installing Plugins

After installing Eventr, you'll see a notification in the top of the page that says the theme needs some plugins to function properly.
Eventr is working perfectly with these plugins. It automatically adds more styles to them to make the design match the theme. Also you can install recommended plugins according to what you need.

1.3Import Demo Content

Importing from Theme Options Panel

Eventr allows you to import any of the demos with one click via the theme options panel. Each import will import the demo pages as well as the actual theme option settings.

  1. Header to the Eventr > Theme Options in your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Click on the Demo Content tab on the left hand side of the Theme Options panel
  3. Click on Import Demo for your desired demo

Manual Import

The raw XML files are located at wp-content/plugins/themecube-core/redux-extensions/wbc_importer/demo-data in case you prefer the old method of importing. If you’re having issues with the one click demo importer you could also try importing these as an alternative.

Once in the wbc_importer directory you’ll see folders for every available demo. Within each folder will be a

To manually import a demo and have it look the same as what’s shown on ThemeForest will require importing both the content.xml and the theme-options.txt

  1. Go to Tools > Import
  2. Select WordPress from the list
  3. If you haven't installed the WordPress import plugin, a popup window will appears and ask you to install it. Just click Install Now. When the installation progress is completed, click Activate Plugin & Run Importer. If you have installed this plugin, skip to next step.
  4. Click Browse and select content.xml file
  5. Click Upload file and import
  6. When you are asked to import author, you can create new author or import to existing author. You also should check the checkbox Download and import file attachments.

1.4Child theme

If you’re the type that wants to modify the Eventr core files or just would like a better way to organize custom css then the Eventr child theme is for you. Installing the Eventr child theme will follow a similar process as installing the main theme.

  1. Head over to Appearance > Themes in your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Install Themes followed by the Upload button
  3. Locate the Eventr-child-theme.zip file you extracted from the ThemeForest download archive and click the Install Now button

2Theme Options

Eventr theme comes with easy-to-use Theme Options page. You can change all theme options in one place. To Access the options panel head to the Eventr menu link in your WordPress admin dashboard.

All of these options are global options, meaning they will effect the entire website. Each section in this chapter will give an overview of what the options do for each grouping. There are also page/post specific options located on every edit page/post screen. Please see the relevant section in the documentation to learn more about Page Options tab.

2.1General Settings

2.2Colors

This tab of the option panel contains a series of color pickers which are assigned names of Primary, Light, Dark and Gradient colors. You’ll assign your desired colors to these slots.

2.3Typography

The typography options tab provides a powerful way to alter the font settings for the areas of the theme.

Each font choice in the typography tab provides the following options:

2.4Logo and Favicon

2.5Navigation

This tab of the option panel contains the colors and font option of navigation.

2.6Footer

This tab allows you manage the footer area color, typography and copyright text.

2.7404 Page

This tab allows you manage the 404 page. You can select the image or text for this page.

2.8Blog

This tab allows you manage the blog posts page. You can select the full post or excerpt, excerpt size and button from this tab.

2.9Social Accounts

You can add social accounts from this tab. Use the [social] shortcode for display the social icons wherever you want.

2.10Map

This tab allows you manage the custom Google Map.

2.11Custom CSS

If you have any custom CSS you would like added to the site, please enter it here.

2.12Demo Content

This tab allows you to import any of the demos with one click. Just click on Import Demo for your desired demo
