WordPress Installation
WordPress is one of the most popular CMS in the world that makes it the best choice for your website.
You can download and install the WordPress from the official website using WordPress very setup steps called “Famous 5-minute install”.
For more information on WordPress, please, visit the WordPress Codex page.
Theme requirements:
Please check the recommended server configuration for proper theme functioning:
– PHP version 5.5 and higher
– memory_limit – 128M or Higher
– max_execution_time – 180 or Higher

Enough server configuration will also ensure fast speed and increased performance.
Note Please check theme requirements Before you start with the theme.
Theme Installation
Assuming that WordPress website is already set (for setting up WordPress blog refer to WordPress set up documentation), the next step is to install the theme. There are 2 main ways to upload the theme:
Option 1: Via “Envato Market” plugin (recommended)
If you already have the “Envato Market Plugin” installed on your site then just go to Admin > Envato Market and install the theme from there. If not, than download the plugin by clicking on this link and install the plugin on your site. After installation, you need to configure it. Just go to this link to know how to configure this plugin.
Than just go to Admin > Envato Market plugin menu and install the theme. The theme would be available to install so you can easily install it.
Option 2: Via FTP client
Use an FTP client such as FileZilla, FireFTP or Cyberduck (if you are a Mac user) to connect to your hosting account. Navigate to where WordPress is installed and locate the /wp-content/themes/ directory.
Find the zip file called “Car Dealer.zip” in downloaded file, unzip it and upload the folder to the folder /wp-content/themes/.
After all file uploaded, just go to Admin > Appearance and activate Car Dealer theme.
Option 3: Through the native WordPress theme uploader (not recommended due to big size of theme)
First you need to unzip the downloaded file and find the zip file called Car Dealer.zip. After this you have to go in the Admin panel > Appearance > Themes (see the image on the right), click on the Install Themes tab and in this section in the top left corner click on the link Upload. After that, a new form will appear to upload the theme. Select Car Dealer.zip file from your local file system and submit the form.
Plugins Installation
After theme installation and activation, it will redirect you to welcome screen, where you can start installation of required plugin by clicking “Proceed” button. Clicking on “Proceed” will lead you to the plugin installation page.
If you are guided to some other page, instead of Welcome screen, it will display a notice in Admin Panel to install required and recommended plugins. You can click “Begin installing Plugins” to proceed plugin installation.
Car Dealer requires some plugins to be install to run various theme functionalities properly. Few plugins will be installed from WordPress Plugins Repository and few plugins are bundled with theme. On plugin installation page, it will display list of required and recommended plugins.
Choose plugins and select “Install” in Bulk Action dropdown and click Apply button. First, it will install the selected plugins and then it will display the same list to activate the installed plugins.
You can manage (install/uninstall, activate/deactivate) plugins from Plugin Manager (Admin Panel > Plugins). For more information on plugin management go to WordPress Codex – Plugin Management.

Google Analytics Goal

Goals measure how well your site or app, fulfills your target objectives. Having properly configured goals allows Analytics to provide you with critical information. such as the number of conversions and the conversion rate for your site or app. Without this information, it’s almost impossible to evaluate the effectiveness of your online business and marketing campaigns.
Once you setup goals to your google analytics account, goal list will be displayed on your car dealer dashboard with goal completion and conversion rate information same as given in the first screen shot.
To setup and configure goals of your site, see below details.
Create a new goal
Navigate to your goals:
- Sign in to Google Analytics.
- Click Admin, and navigate to the desired view.
- In the VIEW column, click Goals.
- Click + NEW GOAL or Import from Gallery to create a new goal, or click an existing goal to edit its configuration.
Note: If + NEW GOAL and Import from Gallery are not visible, then you have already created the maximum of 20 goals for the current view.
You have 3 basic options for creating goals:
- Using a Goal Template
- Creating Custom Goals
- Creating Smart Goals
Option 1: Goals from a template
Follow the steps to create a new goal (above), then:
- Select a Template from the list.
- Click Next step to continue setting up your goal.

Goal templates are designed to help you to set actionable goals that meet standard business objectives. You can edit any template field before saving a goal. The goal categories (Revenue, Acquisition, Inquiry, Engagement) are the larger business objectives that motivate the goal templates. Use them as an organization tool to help you to think about the purpose of your goals. Try to create at least one goal for each category to get a better understanding of how users interact with your content. These categories don’t affect any data or your reports.
Option 2: Custom goals
Follow the steps to create a new goal (above), then:
A. Select Custom from the list of options.
B. Click Next step, then select a goal Type.
There are a number of different goal types, each used for a different kind of action you can measure. If you use a template, the best fit will be suggested for you. If you set up a custom goal, select the type that best fits the action you need to track. Below section contains information of goal types.
1. Setting goal by Destination :
URL destination goals keep track of specific URLs. Each time someone goes to that URL, they trigger the goal. These are ideal for thank you pages, confirmation pages, and PDFs.
– For using this, after selection of this type on first step click continue.
– On next step, enter url. Don’t enter full URL, use only what comes after the domain. So if the full URL is for example, cardealer.potenzaglobalsolutions.com/cars then enter /cars in the textbox.
The goal values is optional and used for Assigning a monetary value to a goal gives you a way to compare conversions and measure changes and improvements to your site or app. You can leave it.
Funnel is also optional. Goal funnels allow you to see exactly how many people move through each step of your marketing process. For example, build a goal funnel for your ecommerce checkout to see how many people move through each step between the shopping cart and the payment page. You can leave this also.
– Save.
2. Setting goal by Duration :
You can use this to track how many people stay on your site for a certain amount of time. Also, you can set the goal to track every visit that’s below a specific amount of time. This gets super useful for support sites that are trying to help customers answer their question as fast as possible.
In next step, other options for duration is given. The Hours, Minutes and Seconds fields specify the minimum session time that qualifies as a goal conversion. Any session longer than this amount of time will generate a conversion.

3. Setting goal by Pages/Screens Per Session:

Enter the amount of pages that you would define as a success, and Google Analytics will count it as a goal if the user pass the number of pages that you have defined.
4. Setting goal by Event:

For example, you can send an event every time when a user clicks the Add to Cart button, likes/comments/shares a post, adds something to wish list, or does any other action that you want to track as a micro conversion. After sending the event you can enter the Event Category and/or Event Action and/or Event Label and/or Event Value in your goal details, and then Google Analytics will count a conversion every time when this event will be fired.
The Google Analytics Event Tracking Guide will show you exactly how to do this.
Option 3: Smart Goals
If your account meets the prerequisites, you will have the option to select Smart Goals. Follow the steps to create a new goal (above), then:
- Select Smart Goals (if available).
- Click Next step to continue setting up your goal.
Recording status
As soon as you create a goal, it starts recording data. You can pause a goal by changing the recording status to OFF. No data is recorded for a goal when turned off.
To change a goal’s recording status:
Because goal conversions are calculated and applied as your data is processed, it is not possible to delete a goal. If one of your goals becomes obsolete or irrelevant, turn off recording instead.

- Navigate to your goals.
- Locate the goal you wish to change.
- Turn the Recording toggle ON or OFF.
Once you set up goal you can see goal informations in your google analytics account in detail.
For this navigate to Conversations > Goals > Overview from left sidebar menu in google analytics account.

Here, as you can see in above image, you will get all the informations about all Goals which you have created. You will get all the information like Goal Conversion, Conversion Rate, Goal Abandonment, Goal Value, Goal Completion Location, Source / Medium etc along with graph and duration.
Here Goal Conversion Rate can be calculated by following:
Goal Conversion Rate = ( Total Goal Completions / Total Visits from the whole world ) * 100
In Google Analytics the Goal conversion rate is calculated as:

You can also change these details based on duration. You can change duration by using calendar from top-right corner of the page.
You can also change current goal from the drop down given in Goal Option above overview graph.

Speed Optimization
The two factors involved in reducing load time of site are as below:
1. Limiting the scripts to minimum number of files as possible.
WordPress sites are especially susceptible to loading many scripts upon page load. This is because plugins and themes generally have their own scripts that need to be loaded in order to function. In some websites, developers would manually combine them to reduce the overhead upon page load.
2. Deferring the loading of “non-critical” scripts.
It includes moving scripts to the bottom of the page. When a browser is loading your page, it typically loads things in parallel until it encounters a script. And while working on a script browser load only scripts nothing else. Once the script is loaded, the website can continue rendering everything else. You can see how, especially if you have many scripts, this can affect your page load time.
Steps to Resolve the “Render-blocking JavaScript and CSS” PageSpeed Error:
Step 1. Resolve any render-blocking plugin scripts by adjusting plugin settings, if possible.
Google PageSpeed help you to determine which render-blocking scripts coming from a plugin you need to adjust. If you are able to identify any plugins from the list of scripts, go to each plugin’s settings, one by one, and search for a setting that will defer the JavaScript or load it asynchronously. If you are unable to identify any plugins from the list of scripts, or if you do not have any of these plugin settings available to you, continue on to step 2.
Step 2. Resolve the CSS file from render-blocking
-
- Enable Optimize HTML code
- Enable Optimize JavaScript code
- Enable Optimize CSS Code
- “Inline and Defer CSS”
I. IDENTIFY All of Your Site’s CSS.
A.) Open Autoptimze (Settings –> Autoptimze), and tick the “Inline All CSS?, Remove Google Fonts? and Also aggregate inline CSS?” option (click all images below for a larger view):

B.) Then, click “Save Settings and Empty Cache” at the bottom of your Autoptimize dashboard.
C.) In another browser tab with an empty cache, open your homepage’s source code (right click –> open source).
D.) Your HTML will (likely) be huge now. Copy everything between the <style type=”text/css” media=”all”> and ending </style> tags.
II. EXTRACT the Critical CSS.
A.) Open this Critical Path CSS Generator and enter your site’s homepage URL into the field under #1 (“URL”).
B.) Paste the code you copied from your source into the field under #2 (Full CSS).

C.) Click the ‘Create Critical Path CSS’ button, and you’ll get something like:

D.) Copy the generated CSS code.
III. APPLY Critical CSS.
A.) Go back into Autoptimize, and tick the “Inline and Defer CSS?” option.
B.) Enter the code you copied from the Critical Path CSS Generator into the field under the Inline and Defer CSS option box. Like:

C.) Click “Save settings and Empty Cache” at the bottom of your Autoptimize dashboard.
And that’s it! You’re good to go.

to “Vehicle Inventory > Vehicles Import” upload your inventory file
Once you have drag and dropped the file variables into the corresponding listing category you can click the “Import Listings” button it will import each vehicle in the file.
Note: We recommend importing smaller feeds at a time since it can cause a strain on the server especially if you are importing gallery images along with it.
VIN Import :
We also offer a way to import vehicles based on their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). For this, you need to install “Car Dealer – VIN Import” plugin first. The VIN importer utilizes the Edmunds API which is completely free. Once you have signed up make sure to enter the keys in the “API Keys” section of the “Car dealer > Theme Options > Vehicles Setting Options”.
Then go to “Vehicle Inventory > VIN Import” and enter in your vehicles VIN into the textbox and click “Get vehicle details”. The next screen will display all the variables returned from the Edmunds API and you simply drag and drop the variable to the listing category of your choice. You should have something similar to this afterwards click the button “Import Vehicle” and it will import the information into a new listing.
Note: Every vehicle may not be able to be imported as the Edmunds API doesn’t contain every single. Also, Edmunds has stopped providing this API service for new customers. If you are an existing customer of Edmunds then only you will be able to use “Car Dealer – VIN Import” plugin. We also provided alternative of Edmuds VIN Import that is “AutoManager services”.

WP All Import works with any XML or CSV file, imports images, and can easily import data to plugin and theme fields or anywhere else you need it. WP All Import’s simple drag and drop interface makes it extremely easy to map the data in your XML or CSV file to the appropriate fields in WordPress.
The plugin works with any theme, any plugin, and supports images, Custom Fields, taxonomies, Custom Post Types, dates, and pretty much every other WordPress field.
WP All Import is designed to be efficient with large imports – it splits large import files into smaller chunks – making it possible to import files with hundreds of megabytes of data and hundreds of thousands of records, even on shared hosting.
To import to Advanced Custom Fields, you must have the Advanced Custom Fields add-on for WP All Import. You can download the Advanced Custom Fields add-on for WP All Import from here. For more inforamtion, please check this documentation.
See this link. This will guide you how to use WP All Import plugin.
If you are getting some issues related to import using WP All Import, then see the following common issues which will guide you how to resolve that issue:
1. “File upload rejected by server”.
2. “Your server terminated the import process”.
3. “Is WP All Import not working as expected?”.
4. Slow Imports

Edmunds VIN Import
Also, Edumnds has stopped providing this API service for new customers. If you are an existing customer of Edmunds then only you will be able to use “Car Dealer – VIN Import” plugin. We also provided alternative of Edmuds VIN Import that is “AutoManager services”.
VinQuery Decoder - Vehicle import through VIN Number
Car Dealer theme provides “Car Dealer – VINquery Import” plugin by which you can import vehicles within your inventory by providing “VIN Number” of the vehicle.
VIN decoder provides the true identity of a vehicle by decoding the 17-character Vehicle Identification Number(VIN). The service is used daily by used car shoppers, used car dealers, auto auctioneers, automotive solution providers, business professionals within financial institutions, insurance companies, law enforcement groups and government agencies across North America.
Upon entry of a VIN number, VINquery.com VIN decoding system validates, verifies the coded information contained within the various elements of the VIN number and then explodes it into a report that includes the following information:
– Basic Description: Year, Make, Model, Trim;
– Technical Specifications;
– Standard Features;
– Optional Features.
Note: For using this functionality, you must have an account with VinQuery. They will provide you an API key to your email id. By default VinQuery will provide around 25 free API calls which will not include images of vehicles. For more API calls and vehicle images, you will have to purchase pricing package from VinQuery.
AutoManager Services - Import Intergration
Users can import their inventory using “Car Dealer – VIN Import” plugin if they already have account with Edmunds(Because Edmunds does not provide this API service for new customers). If they do not have account with Edmunds then they can use another alternative of using AutoManager Services.
You can contact AutoManager for inventory import, they will provide you the XML file including vehicle inventory. After that, you can import this XML file using “WP All Import Pro” plugin. Here note that, you also need to install “Advanced Custom Fields Add-On”.
To know how to import XML file provided by AutoManager, check the above video.
For more information about WP All Import, you can check our documentation section for WP All Import here.

Car Dealer Front Submission is a plugin that allows end users to register with your site as a Dealer and add their vehicle to your site using the login. This plugin allows dealers to add/update their personal details as well as add, update, delete and enable or disable vehicles posted by them.
This plugin is having two main entities: Admin and Dealer.
Admin:
Admin has option to publish the vehicles added by dealers. This can be done from Vehicle Inventory section.
Once a vehicle is published then only it will become live for the end users.

Template Override
Car Dealer Front Submission plugin is build in such a way that you can easily customize it according to your need. You can also override templates of the plugin easily.
To override template, you need to maintain template hierarchy structure. We mentioned the template path in the top of each template file to override that template.
For example, to overridde mail template using child theme, you can create template file inside your child theme by following location “CHILD_THEME/cardealer-front-submission/mails/mail.php”.
That’s it for Car Dealer Front Submission plugin.

Pricing Packages Plan feature allowes dealers who are registered with the site to purchase plan for adding vehicles to your site.
According to the Car Dealer theme functionality, by default, dealers are allowed to add cars and images based on the option set by site admin from “Front Submission Settings” page within theme options. For more vehicles, dealers will have to purchase plan from admin. This “Pricing Packages Plan” feature provides this feature.

CarGurus Rating Badges
With Car Gurus, it finds the best deals. Organic rankings are based on market value and dealer reputation, not by how much a dealer pays (like the other guys).
Car Gurus feature displays rating badges for each car like “Good Deal”, “Great Deal” and “Fair Deal” based on minimum rating selection in Car Dealer theme options. If CarGuru Setting is enabled from Car Dealer theme options, it finds the vehicle in the Car Gurus database based on VIN number of the vehicle, and if found, then it displays badge for that vehicle in each vehicle listings and vehicle details page.
Note: In order to user CarGurus feature, you will have to have an existing CarGurus account with CarGurus.
GDPR Compliance
GDPR is a regulation that requires businesses to protect the personal data and privacy of EU citizens for transactions that occur within EU member states. And non-compliance could cost companies dearly.
GDPR law applies to all companies that collect and process data belonging to European Union (EU) citizens. You have every reason to fear it because failure to comply will be costly.
Car Dealer theme is fully satisfy the GDPR compliance. Users who submits their information in terms of inquiry, can request for download their data as well as erase their own data.
This option is provided in admin panel on following two page.
1. Export Personal Data – “Tools > Export Personal Data”.
2. Erase Personal Data – “Tools > Erase Personal Data”.
Browser Support
Car Dealer supports all major Browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer 9 and above.
Retina Display
The basic concept of a Retina image is that an image twice the size of a standard web image will be displayed on the screen. On a non-retina device an image will be 100px X 100px whereas a Retina device will display the same image but at 200px X 200px. Most of the devices use this branded concept for Retina devices like having approximately twice the pixel density of a non-retina device.
If you want to get perfect looking images on Retina screens. If for example, you build website where you upload regular images into Content, you must always upload 2 images in Media
Add new section which looks like below:
my_image.png - this is the name for standard image (e.g. 100px X 100px) my_image@2x.png - this is the example name for retina image and file must be always 2x larger than regular image (e.g. 200px X 200px)
Note You need to include retina.js to make your website completely retina ready. See example below:
<!-- retina --> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/retina.js"></script>
For more information about retina documentation and to download retina.js Click here.

How to use Loco Translate plugin?
First step for using loco translate plugin is, you need to create language PO, MO file as we created for US English language files – en_US.mo, en_US.po in theme languages folder. These files will replace all static string to your language string.
For creating new language file you can use poedit software: https://poedit.net/download
Loco Translate plugin is free, which is available at WordPress plugin repository path: https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/.
When you are editing any language with Loco Translate, which is stored at unsafe location (check below list of Safe and Unsafe locations), it will display this notice “Changes to this file may be overwritten or deleted when you update WordPress.” See the below screenshots:

Unsafe Locations:
wp-content/themes
wp-content/plugins
wp-content/languages (Other sub-directories of the languages folder are safe. You will notice that Loco’s custom folder is at “wp-content/languages/loco“.)
wp-content/languages/themes
wp-content/languages/plugins
Safe Locations
wp-content/languages/loco
Any other folder in “wp-content/languages”
And, when you are adding new language, it offers to choose translation location. See following screenshot:

So, choose a custom location to prevent translation while updating the theme, plugin, or WordPress.

Note: First you have to take backup of your site when you will update your site.
How to Add, remove or customize fields(attributes) of the vehicles?
We are using Advanced Custom Fields Pro (ACF) plugin to add fields in the backend.
You can use ACF APIs to register new field-sets. Here is the link to field registration document. https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/register-fields-via-php/
If you want to modify existing fieldsets, you can use WordPress filters to extend existing field-sets. You can locate filters tags for each field-sets in their relevant code files at below path.
WORDPRESS_ROOT\wp-content\plugins\cardealer-helper-library\includes\acf\fields
For example, if you want to add custom attributes to Car Inventory, you will have to add a new field(s) with a filter tag “cardealer_acf_car_data”, available in “car-data.php”.
Here is the example code, in which we added new fields at end of existing fieldset (Note: Field’s key MUST BE UNIQUE).
add_filter( 'cardealer_acf_car_data', 'extend_cardealer_acf_car_data_fieldset' ); function extend_cardealer_acf_car_data_fieldset( $fieldset ){ // get old fields $old_fields = $fieldset['fields']; // prepare new fields $new_fields = array( // Full Field Parameters array ( 'key' => 'field_a72386bc0bde11e8ba096f6e6c696e65', //Must pass unique value here.Do not use blank space and special character just use int or alphabets. Used "http://onlineuuidgenerator.com/time/5/0/0/" to generate unique key 'label' => esc_html__( 'Field 1', 'theme-textdomain' ), 'name' => 'field_name_1', 'type' => 'text', 'prefix' => '', 'instructions' => '', 'required' => 0, 'conditional_logic'=> 0, 'wrapper' => array ( 'width'=> '', 'class'=> '', 'id' => '', ), 'default_value'=> '', 'placeholder' => '', 'prepend' => '', 'append' => '', 'maxlength' => '', 'readonly' => 0, 'disabled' => 0, ), // Minimal Field Parameters array ( 'key' => 'field_a72388c40bde11e8a6586f6e6c696e65', 'label' => esc_html__( 'Field 2', 'theme-textdomain' ), 'name' => 'field_name_2', 'type' => 'text', ), ); // merge old and new fields $all_field = array_merge($old_fields, $new_fields); // assign back fields to field-set. $fieldset['fields'] = $all_field; // return field-set return $fieldset; }
With above code, it will add a new field(s) in the last tab in existing fieldset, as because all fields in this field-set are under tabs, so if you add new field without tab field, the newly added field will appear under the last tab fieldset.
So, we will add a new tab field before new fields to place newly added fields in the new tab.
Here, also note that, if you want to add newly added attribute into vehicle filters(displayed on the inventory page and vehicle filter shortcode), then you need to add taxonomy field. Standard fields(like “Field 1” and “Field 2”) will not be available inside filters.
After adding the tab field and new taxonomy fields, above code sample will look like this.
/* ### CODE TO ADD TAXONOMY FIELD ### */ // First register new taxonomy $labels = array( 'name' => esc_html__( 'Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), 'singular_name' => esc_html__( 'Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), 'search_items' => esc_html__( 'Search Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), 'popular_items' => esc_html__( 'Popular Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), 'all_items' => esc_html__( 'All Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), 'parent_item' => null, 'parent_item_colon' => null, 'edit_item' => esc_html__( 'Edit Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), 'update_item' => esc_html__( 'Update Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), 'add_new_item' => esc_html__( 'Add New Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), 'new_item_name' => esc_html__( 'New Field 3 Name', 'your-textdomain' ), 'separate_items_with_commas' => esc_html__( 'Separate Field 3 with commas', 'your-textdomain' ), 'add_or_remove_items' => esc_html__( 'Add or remove Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), 'choose_from_most_used' => esc_html__( 'Choose from the most used Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), 'not_found' => esc_html__( 'No field 3 found.', 'your-textdomain' ), 'menu_name' => esc_html__( 'Field 3', 'your-textdomain' ), ); $args = array( 'hierarchical' => false, 'labels' => $labels, 'show_ui' => true, 'update_count_callback' => '_update_post_term_count', 'query_var' => true, 'rewrite' => array( 'slug' => 'field_3' ), ); register_taxonomy( 'car_field_3', 'cars', $args );
Add New Fields in Field Group With New Tab Field:
add_filter( 'cardealer_acf_car_data', 'cardealer_child_extend_acf_car_data'); function cardealer_child_extend_acf_car_data( $args ){ // Debug This // Set "$debug_this" true, to display list of fields // Make changes into '$args' array and unset fields you want to remove $debug_this = false; if( $debug_this ){ echo '<pre>'; print_r($args); echo '</pre>'; exit; } /* ### CODE TO ADD NEW FIELDS ### */ // Add Tab // This is must required to separate additional fields from existing tabs. $args['fields'][] = array ( 'key' => 'field_4f226f8e162211e8b3706f6e6c696e65', //Must pass unique value here. Do not use blank space and special character just use int or alphabets. Used "http://onlineuuidgenerator.com/time/5/0/0/" to generate unique key 'label' => esc_html__('Extra Fields Tab','theme-textdomain'), 'name' => '', 'type' => 'tab', 'instructions' => '', 'required' => 0, 'conditional_logic'=> 0, 'wrapper' => array ( 'width'=> '', 'class'=> '', 'id' => '', ), 'placement' => 'left', 'endpoint' => 0, ); // ADD FIELD $args['fields'][] = array ( 'key' => 'field_4f226d22162211e8a9f06f6e6c696e65', 'label' => esc_html__('Field 1','theme-textdomain'), 'name' => 'field_name_1', 'type' => 'text', // TYPE OF FIELD (i.e. text, editor and so on) 'instructions' => esc_html__('This is field 1.', 'theme-textdomain'), 'required' => 0, 'conditional_logic'=> 0, 'wrapper' => array ( 'width'=> '', 'class'=> '', 'id' => '', ), 'default_value'=> '', 'maxlength' => '', 'placeholder' => '', 'prepend' => '', 'append' => '', ); // ADD FIELD $args['fields'][] = array ( 'key' => 'field_f0c67d62162211e8a9d96f6e6c696e65', 'label' => esc_html__('Field 2','theme-textdomain'), 'name' => 'field_name_2', 'type' => 'text', 'instructions' => esc_html__('This is field 2.', 'theme-textdomain'), 'required' => 0, 'conditional_logic'=> 0, 'wrapper' => array ( 'width'=> '', 'class'=> '', 'id' => '', ), 'default_value'=> '', 'maxlength' => '', 'placeholder' => '', 'prepend' => '', 'append' => '', ); // ADD TAXONOMY FIELD $args['fields'][] = array ( 'key' => 'field_69159e6096f711e8aed56f6e6c696e65', 'label' => esc_html__('Field 3','theme-textdomain'), 'name' => 'field_name_3', 'type' => 'taxonomy', 'instructions' => '', 'required' => 0, 'conditional_logic' => 0, 'wrapper' => array ( 'width' => '', 'class' => '', 'id' => '', ), 'taxonomy' => 'car_field_3', 'field_type' => 'select', 'multiple' => 0, 'allow_null' => 1, 'return_format' => 'id', 'add_term' => 1, 'load_terms' => 1, 'save_terms' => 1, ); return $args; }
Remove the attributes from vehicle detail page(If you have removed any attribute from field group).
You can add below code to remove attributes on vehicle details page.
add_filter( 'cardealer_cars_details_attributes_array', 'cardealer_child_extend_car_attributes_array', 20, 2); function cardealer_child_extend_car_attributes_array( $attributes, $post_id ){ // Debug This // Set "$debug_this" true, to display list of attributes $debug_this = false; if( $debug_this ){ echo '<pre>'; print_r($attributes); echo '</pre>'; exit; } // Add "attributes" in this array to remove. Following are added just for example. where I removed Stock Number and Vin Number of the vehicle from vehicle detail page. $removable_attributes = array( 'car_stock_number', 'car_vin_number', ); foreach( $attributes as $taxonomy_k => $taxonomy_v ){ if( in_array($taxonomy_v, $removable_attributes) ){ unset( $attributes[$taxonomy_k] ); } } return $attributes; }
You can add below code to add newly added field on vehicle details page. We used newly added field name to output new attributes.
add_filter( 'cardealer_car_attributes', 'cardealer_child_extend_car_attributes', 10, 2 ); function cardealer_child_extend_car_attributes( $attributes, $post_id ){ // Debug This // Set "$debug_this" true, to display list of attributes $debug_this = false; if( $debug_this ){ echo '<pre>'; print_r($attributes); echo '</pre>'; exit; } // You can add new attributes like this // List of parameters // attribute_key = Unique Attribute Key in small letters, without space and spacial character. // attr = Attribute Name // value = Attribute Value /* $attributes[ 'attribute_key' ] = array( 'attr' => esc_html__( 'Attribute Name', 'theme-textdomain' ), 'value' => esc_html__( 'Attribute Value', 'theme-textdomain' ), ); */ $field_name_1 = get_field('field_name_1', $post_id); if( $field_name_1 && !empty($field_name_1) ){ $attributes[ $field_name_1 ] = array( 'attr' => esc_html__( 'My Field 1', 'theme-textdomain' ), 'value' => esc_html($field_name_1), ); } $field_name_2 = get_field('field_name_2', $post_id); if( $field_name_2 && !empty($field_name_2) ){ $attributes[ $field_name_2 ] = array( 'attr' => esc_html__( 'My Field 2', 'theme-textdomain' ), 'value' => esc_html($field_name_2), ); } return $attributes; }
That’s it.
Note:
1. Each field’s key MUST BE UNIQUE. We used “http://onlineuuidgenerator.com/time/5/0/0/” to generate a unique key for the above sample code.
2. Please use either child-theme or in mu-plugins for modification or any customization, so you will not lose changes on theme update.
How to integrate WebManager to Car Dealer Theme?
If you want to integrate WebManager with your site, then you can use Car Dealer theme. Please check this video of import integration.
For using this feature you can use Car Dealer theme but for further steps, you will require to contact AutoManager. Most of the time AutoManager integration require users to do some work and back and forth with the AutoManager support team until it is working correctly, for it, they may need to pay a one-time setup fee to AutoManager. AutoManager support team will then go ahead and do the entire work for the users as most of the users do not understand the setup process.
How to make sold vehicle page?
To create a sold vehicle page, page template named “Sold Vehicles” is provided with the Car Dealer theme. So to create a sold vehicle page select “Sold Vehicle” page template as below.

Once you select page template and save the page, this page will then show the sold vehicle lists.

Why Sample Data Look Different than Demo Pages?
Sample data pages contain the same contents and shortcode elements, which are on demo pages. The only difference between sample-data and demo are images, the number of posts/products, and menu items.
Images: Images used on our demo pages are commercial images, which are licensed to use on our demo sites only. So, we can’t redistribute them for any purpose. So, sample data contains placeholder images instead.
Post/Product and Related Taxonomy Terms: There is a limited number of posts and products provided in the sample data because these items are to be added by users. Therefore categories and tags are also limited.
Menu: The menu on our demo site is to display different styles and layouts of different sections, pages, and content of the theme. Therefore, this menu is not of any use in sample-data. However, if you need a similar menu, you can create it.
